One method of obtaining maximum efficiency from hydroponics lighting is to concentrate it inside a relatively inexpensive, easily erected, portable grow cabinet inside your home or shop.  These cabinets also offer easy regulation of temperature and humidity with the use of exhaust and intake blowers.  Standing 6.5′ to 7′ tall, Habitat or Sun Hut units can hold 3′ x 3′, 4′ x 4′ or 4′ x 8′ hydroponics systems which provide room for the optimum light, ventilation and possible CO2 concentration around your growing plants.

These units are made from thick black canvas with a thermally adhered layer of thick white plastic on the inside. The fabric/plastic combination is light-tight and water-proof.  Four vent openings with lightproof covers  give you the option of cooling your lighting system and the Habitat or Sun Hut units independently.  This feature enables you to provide 600 or 1000 watt lighting with all of the light rays concentrated in a 4′ x 4′ by 7′ room with the white plastic lining serving to reflect the light rays back onto the plants so there is no wasted energy.   A blower and duct work connected directly to a reflector such as the Eco-Reflector-Daystar 6″ AC
moves the hot air generated by the bulb out of the cabinet and into the larger room or it can be ducted completely outside.   A second blower can be set up to handle movement of air around the plants if desired, of a single blower can be set up to cool both the plants and the light bulb.

Because the Habitat or Sun Hut units can be unzipped from any side, servicing the growing plants becomes quite easy from any angle.  This indoor greenhouse setup enables you to hydroponically grow plants almost anywhere in your home or other building without concern of unwanted light shining in your eyes or being wasted in unused spaces.  Because it is lightweight (50 – 70 pounds), it can be moved to different locations if desired and your experience tells you that another location would be more utilitarian.
