Save Money and the Environment while obtaining Good Plant Growth

Save money and the environment by utilizing the new, cool, highly efficient LED
(Light Emitting Diode) 400+ equivalent watts lamp in any gardening application – hydroponics or soil, home or greenhouse!

LED UFO Concept
The LED UFO is a simple concept – it uses highly efficient 1 watt LEDs, uses only the exact spectrums required for photosynthesis, and uses wide angle directional bulbs. The 1 watt LED is one of the most efficient light sources in the world (lumens per watt). By using only the spectrum required, no light is wasted. Spectrums of light that do little or nothing for a plants growth, like green light, have been eliminated. Plus, the directional LEDs ensure 100% of the light points downward without the use of reflective materials to direct the light.

The LED UFO light system
is a self-contained product that generates virtually no heat, and does not require heavy gauge wiring.  It includes the appropriate LED bulbs, ballast, small efficient cooling fans,
electrical cords and mounting hardware.

Because LED Grow Lights are environmentally friendly, they will result in healthier, more productive plants.  Because they emit very little in the way of heat, LED Grow Lights allow your plants to keep cooler.  Plants thrive at room temperature, receiving all the light they require without growth-stunting excess heat affecting both plant tops and roots. Therefore, your plants will require less watering.

Long Term Economics
The higher initial cost of the LED UFO system becomes more and more economical as time goes by with its much lower power consumptionand much longer bulb life.  One 80,000 – 100,000 hour LED UFO system emitting just the light spectrum used byplants does the same job as purchasing both MH and HPS bulbs, ballasts, reflector, and cooling fan(s).  The MH and HPS bulbs use far more electricity and must be replaced much more frequently.

  1. There isn’t any dimmer switch on the LED UFO to control brightness. You control how much light the plant(s) receive by raising or lowering the light The LED UFO is very wide angle, with a 3′ x 3′ footpring when elevated only 8-12 inches from a plant’s canopy.

Raising the LED UFO higher will expand the amount of area covered but at a correspondingly lower level of lumens received by the plants.

Normally, the more light the better for plants during a 12 – 18 hour period. With any bulb, the closer the bulb is to the plant, the more light that the plant receives. However with the standard MH or HPS bulbs, the heat generated by the bulb limits how close to the plants you can place the bulb. The cool LED UFO design permits it to be placed much closer to the plants without harm to the plants from heat.

Since much of the wattage used by a MH or HPS bulb is converted into heat, you are paying both to generate heat (as an unwanted byproduct) and then paying to run a fan or conditioner to remove the heat from the growing area. The heat also contributes to the shorter MH or HPS bulb life. Using the LED UFO system eliminates much of this problem.

I keep hearing people say that these are supposed to be better BUT have you grown herb with them and the results been equals or is there a BUT in the response, what are the flaws of this application if you can think of any?

  3. I am not able to test every product that I sell but I am careful to try to ensure that I only handle quality products.

Just because a product is new does not always ensure that it is a better product, so I am relying on the suppliers information, high demand for this product with no negative feedback and especially a website that is carefully researching this very problem.

See http://www.greenpinelane.com/UFO_HIDHUT2_TEST.aspx for pictures and comments by an individual who is testing a half-dozen different LED grow lights. The ratio of blue to red light elements is fixed so it might not be optimum for every type of plant.
    Hope this answers your query.

Suppose you have two led grow pannels in a 64 sq. ft. volume. What kind of exhaust fan capacity would you need?

    • Very little exhaust fan capacity is required because the LED UFO and LED Supernova light sources have very little heat output. In most cases, no exhaust fan capacity would be required unless the environment is very enclosed with little to no air movement.
